Os Dez Mandamentos
Synopsis
Egypt, 1300 BC. The pharaoh Seti I, who has never hidden his hatred of the Hebrews, orders the death of every newborn Hebrew boy. One baby is saved by his family, who place him in a basket on the Nile trusting that God will guide him. The boy is found by Princess Henutmire, who names him Moses and raises him as an Egyptian prince alongside Ramses, heir to the throne, and the beautiful Nefertari.
As an adult, Moses suffers with the plight of his people and confronts the feared pharaoh. He flees to Midian, marries the rebellious Zipporah and works as a shepherd, until he receives God's call to return to Egypt and free his people from slavery. There he meets his brother Aaron and his sister Miriam, and faces his great enemy: Ramses.
Ramses' stubbornness brings the ten plagues sent by God upon the Egyptians. After the tenth, Ramses lets the Hebrews go, then changes his mind and pursues them into the desert, where one of the most famous biblical miracles takes place: God opens the Red Sea so the Hebrews can cross.
