Synopsis

After forty years of hardship in the desert, the Hebrews who never gave up their faith reach Canaan, the land promised by the Creator, said to be rich in honey, olives and fruit: a divine oasis amid the desolation of the desert. But the challenges are only beginning, because the land will not be handed to them: other peoples already live there, and the Hebrews must fight for their right to it.

About the production

Successor to Os Dez Mandamentos, the biblical telenovela A Terra Prometida kept the audience levels of the saga of Moses that preceded it. Written by Renato Modesto, its first episode aired on the evening of July 5, 2016, from 8:40 to 9:52 p.m., reaching an average of 18 audience points with a peak of 19 and a 24% share in Greater São Paulo, keeping the channel in second place overall. Each point equals about 69,000 households.

The story follows the biblical character Joshua in his mission to lead the twelve tribes of Israel in the conquest of Canaan, the promised land of the title. The author promised battle scenes until the very end.
